Cathedral Czech Glass

I love cathedral Czech glass! I know for me that it brings back childhood memories of our old church sanctuary and looking at the gorgeous stained glass windows during the service. When I first found Cathedral Czech Glass I was so excited! It gives a rainbow of color with a classy feel. It is much different than plain Czech glass because it is has a unique shapes and is finished with either a bronze or silver edging.

I designed this piece for a customer and we call it "Winning Colors". She loves to go to Keeneland and Churchill Downs we came up with this design for her to wear to the races. The horse jockey charm adds the perfect touch and the cathedral Czech glass reminds us of the variety of color's in the jockey silks.

The price for this piece is $35.00.

I designed this tea time bracelet for my mother for Christmas. She loves all things "tea" and when I found this teapot charm I thought that it would make a beautiful bracelet with the cathedral Czech glass. She wears it all of the time as it goes with so many colors.

The price for this piece is $35.00.

Ceramic Pendant Design

I found this ceramic bead at a bead store in Berea. I thought it would make a neat pendant as soon as I saw it. The pendant is actually a ceramic bead and I turned it into a pendant using a sterling silver headpin. I used a variety of swarovski crystal, gemstone and sterling silver for this design. I like the variety of the crystal and gemstone mixed together. I have gotten many compliments on it so I guess the design came out nice!

The price for this piece is $50.00.

Working with Chain!

Last night I took a new class! I am excited to add a new design technique to MJennings Designs, LLC. I learned how to work with chain. I learned how to make chain necklaces and bracelets. I can do both with and without a clasp. If you like long chain necklaces I can do that and you can wrap them around your neck once or twice or I can do shorter chain necklaces with a clasp like in these designs. These can be done is Sterling Silver Chain or Sterling Plate Chain to reduce cost.

This is my design. I used a thin Sterling Silver rollo chain, Cosmic AB Swarovski Crystals and a square Sterling Silver chain.

The price for this piece is $50.00

This is Brittney's design. I convinced her to take the class with me since she does enjoy beading and plans to bead for me during the upcoming Holiday season.

The price for this piece is $40.00

One woman's junk is another woman's treasure!

My friend Nicole brought me a gift last night...a broken watch :-) She is moving to California and found a broken watch while packing. She was going to throw it away and then thought of me!

I was able to re-use the beads and create a fabulous NEW watch for myself! It made me smile to think that I was able to re-use these beads and save them from a terrible death :-) Thanks so much Nicole! I guess the moral to this story is when you are considering throwing out a broken necklace, watch or bracelet consider "recycling" it instead! I can always use the beads for another project or can restring or recreate a piece for you!

These are not the greatest photos as I just used my everyday camera but wanted to share with you this recycled design! :-)

The price for this piece is priceless but I would sell it for $25.00 :-)

More Slab Pendant Designs!

This weekend I designed four agate slab pendant necklaces for myself! I just love these pendants and I think the necklaces turned out great!

I wanted to share with you the metaphysical properties of Agate that I found online. Agate comes in reds, browns, yellows, oranges, and blacks, sometimes with banding, stripes or zoning. Agate is good protective stone, especially for children. It also can help strengthen the body and the body's connection to the earth. It can also lessen feelings of envy by grounding the emotions. Agate balances the physical, emotional and intellectual bodies, and balances and cleanses aura. Agate is known to stimulate analytical abilities and perception, while eliminating negativity. It has also been reported to strengthen sight and promote marital fidelity.

Agate is a member of the Chalcedony family. It is a banded stone with a somewhat waxy appearance and is often transparent at the center. It overcomes bitterness of the heart and eliminates inner anger. Agate fosters love, opening the way for positive relationships!

The first design is a natural agate and it has tones of brown and black. I used a variety of seed beads in black, white, clear and metallic.

The second design is a blue agate and it has tones of blue and green. I used a variety of seed beads in blue, green, clear and white.

The third design is a pink agate. I used a variety of seed beads in lime green, pink, hot pink, clear and orange.

The final design is a purple agate and it has tones of blue and purple. I used a variety of seed beads in purple, clear, blue and green.

The price for these necklaces are $35.00.

I designed this gardening charm bracelet for a customer to give to her friend for Christmas. She wanted me to use a variety of swarovski crystals so that it could be worn with everything!

A special birthday present

I designed this special bracelet for my nephew to give to his friend Alexandria for her birthday. Last year he gave her a personalized name bracelet and so this year I came up with a different design for her. I thought that the seed bead mix in purple would be a big hit because most little girls love purple. I also added a sterling silver heart charm to the bracelet for a special touch. Alexandria was once his "girlfriend" but now they have gone back to "friend status" however I thought the heart would be suitable :-) In addition it features an adjustable lobster claw clasp so it will continue to grow with her. I hope she enjoys it! Happy Birthday Alexandria!

The price for this piece is $12.00.

Another tribute piece...

My friend Jacalyn asked me to re-string a special beaded necklace for her. It belonged to her grandmother and it was one of the few items that she has that belonged to her. It had broken due to age and she had the beads in a small plastic container. I always love to restring meaningful pieces of jewelry because I know how much I cherish items that were once my Granny's or Great Aunts.

We decided to change the look a bit and use sterling silver findings instead of the gold that was originally used. Jacalyn was quite pleased with how it turned out and is excited about being able to wear it once again.

I loved being a part of turning the broken strand of beads into an updated new piece for my friend.

The price for this piece was $15.00 restringing fee plus materials.

A classy tribute bracelet

I was recently asked to design a very special tribute bracelet for a customer who is also a family friend. She wanted me to design a bracelet for her using a strand of her friends pearls that were a gift from her long-time friend who died suddenly as a young mother.

It meant so much to me that she asked me to design this special tribute bracelet for her. As I began to come up with a design I wanted to be sure to keep the integrity of the piece. I decided to use the original clasp because I thought it would be very meaningful. Since I was using the original clasp that led me to use gold in this design. I used 14k gold filled corrugated beads and swarovski crystal roundels with the existing pearls. I think the piece turned out quite classy and I hope that my Mom's friend Karla enjoys wearing it and remembering her friend each time that she does.

The price for this piece is $10.00 stringing fee plus materials.

Calling all Parrotheads!

While preparing my outfit to wear to the Jimmy Buffett concert at Riverbend on July 17th I ran across two parrot charms at my mom's house. I decided to take them home and turn them into necklaces for my friend Brandi and I.

Brandi is my good friend who is coming up from Memphis with her hubby to go to the concert with us (hubby and me). We are so excited to see them and to be going to the concert together! I will be sure to post photos of us wearing the necklaces but for now I just want to share my Parrothead necklace designs with you!
