Guatemalan Necklace

I just recently designed this "Guatemalan doll" necklace. I ordered charms and beads from Guatemala and was inspired to create this necklace once they arrived. They are made of clay and hand painted. I just love them! I ordered butterflies too and can make this necklace with either charm. It is made with a variety of seed beads and can be made at any length.

The price for this piece is $15.00.

Chicago Bears Necklace

I designed this Chicago Bears necklace for a customer to give her husband for Christmas. He is a huge Chicago Bears fan and has been looking for a necklace that is simple to wear during football season. I ordered a simple "C" charm and then custom made a leather necklace with a sterling silver clasp for the charm. Of course she couldn't wait for Christmas and immediately gave it to him and he loves it! If you are looking for the perfect gift for the sports fan on your list I can come up with custom design for him too!

The price for this piece is $65.00.

Gemstone Necklace "Re-Design"

This is a "redesign". My mother gave me a necklace that she bought before I started beading and I took it apart and redesigned it to give it a "face lift". I love giving a piece of jewelry of "new look" and "new life" :-) I used cat's eye, sterling silver and a variety of gemstones for this redesign. If you have a piece that you no longer like to wear I am able to "re-use" beads and create a new design for you too!

The price for this piece is $50.00.

Ceramic Pendant Design

I found this ceramic bead at a bead store in Berea. I thought it would make a neat pendant as soon as I saw it. The pendant is actually a ceramic bead and I turned it into a pendant using a sterling silver headpin. I used a variety of swarovski crystal, gemstone and sterling silver for this design. I like the variety of the crystal and gemstone mixed together. I have gotten many compliments on it so I guess the design came out nice!

The price for this piece is $50.00.

Working with Chain!

Last night I took a new class! I am excited to add a new design technique to MJennings Designs, LLC. I learned how to work with chain. I learned how to make chain necklaces and bracelets. I can do both with and without a clasp. If you like long chain necklaces I can do that and you can wrap them around your neck once or twice or I can do shorter chain necklaces with a clasp like in these designs. These can be done is Sterling Silver Chain or Sterling Plate Chain to reduce cost.

This is my design. I used a thin Sterling Silver rollo chain, Cosmic AB Swarovski Crystals and a square Sterling Silver chain.

The price for this piece is $50.00

This is Brittney's design. I convinced her to take the class with me since she does enjoy beading and plans to bead for me during the upcoming Holiday season.

The price for this piece is $40.00

More Slab Pendant Designs!

This weekend I designed four agate slab pendant necklaces for myself! I just love these pendants and I think the necklaces turned out great!

I wanted to share with you the metaphysical properties of Agate that I found online. Agate comes in reds, browns, yellows, oranges, and blacks, sometimes with banding, stripes or zoning. Agate is good protective stone, especially for children. It also can help strengthen the body and the body's connection to the earth. It can also lessen feelings of envy by grounding the emotions. Agate balances the physical, emotional and intellectual bodies, and balances and cleanses aura. Agate is known to stimulate analytical abilities and perception, while eliminating negativity. It has also been reported to strengthen sight and promote marital fidelity.

Agate is a member of the Chalcedony family. It is a banded stone with a somewhat waxy appearance and is often transparent at the center. It overcomes bitterness of the heart and eliminates inner anger. Agate fosters love, opening the way for positive relationships!

The first design is a natural agate and it has tones of brown and black. I used a variety of seed beads in black, white, clear and metallic.

The second design is a blue agate and it has tones of blue and green. I used a variety of seed beads in blue, green, clear and white.

The third design is a pink agate. I used a variety of seed beads in lime green, pink, hot pink, clear and orange.

The final design is a purple agate and it has tones of blue and purple. I used a variety of seed beads in purple, clear, blue and green.

The price for these necklaces are $35.00.

Another tribute piece...

My friend Jacalyn asked me to re-string a special beaded necklace for her. It belonged to her grandmother and it was one of the few items that she has that belonged to her. It had broken due to age and she had the beads in a small plastic container. I always love to restring meaningful pieces of jewelry because I know how much I cherish items that were once my Granny's or Great Aunts.

We decided to change the look a bit and use sterling silver findings instead of the gold that was originally used. Jacalyn was quite pleased with how it turned out and is excited about being able to wear it once again.

I loved being a part of turning the broken strand of beads into an updated new piece for my friend.

The price for this piece was $15.00 restringing fee plus materials.

Go Cowboys!

My good friend Carla just recently moved from Independence, KY to Stillwater, OK where her husband took a new job at Oklahoma State University. Though I was so sad to see her move I was also very happy for her because she is moving "home" and will be less than an hour from her parents. I just can't imagine living far away from my parents so I know what a relief it is to her!

She asked me to design an OSU necklace and earrings for her to wear to all the home football games. I was so excited to come up with a special design for her and as a surprise I also designed as a gift as matching bracelet! I think it turned out great and I took a photo of it on her :-) She said that every time she wears it she will think of me :-) I am going to miss you Carla!

The price for the necklace is $45.00
The price for the earrings is $12.00

Abalone Shell Pendant

This piece was designed for me by my former student Brittney (she is our babysitter and as I have mentioned before she is my right hand :-) I taught her how to bead so that she could help me this year during the busy Christmas season. She has an eye for design and offers a hip style. I have had this abalone shell pendant in my jewelry box for year's. A dear friend of mine actually collected the shells and polished and drilled them himself. He then added a sterling silver bail and created a pendant. I was not sure what I wanted to do with it and never have time to make things for myself so I gave it to Brittney and she designed and made me a beautiful necklace for it!

The price for this piece is $45.00.
